Osteopathy for me?
Osteopathic treatment is
great for people of all ages and stages. It is
a proven form of treatment for many people. It
is safe, effective and gentle. Treatment plans
are individually created and specific to your
needs and goals.
Can
I receive Osteopathic treatment at the same time
I am receiving another therapy?
Yes, Osteopathy may be used in combination
with physiotherapy/massage therapy or naturopathy
(or other profession).
Do I
need a Doctor’s referral?
Doctor’s referral is not required.
However, it is important to speak to your medical
doctor for the complete diagnosis of any medical
conditions.
How
long are the treatments?
Treatments range from 30mins, 60mins to 90mins
sessions and are prescribed by the therapist.
How often do I need to
come?
Generally one session per
week or every second week is preferred. The time
between sessions is decreased to allow for the
body to adapt over time. Typically a few treatments
are enough to relieve the pain/symptoms; other
times a longer treatment plan is required –
this is based on each individual’s needs/goals.
What do I wear?
Please wear light weight, comfy clothes to your
appointments. Please remove contact lenses, glasses
are preferred during your sessions.
Is Osteopathy or Kinesiology
treatments/services covered by my health insurance
plan?
Osteopathy and/or Kinesiology
professions are currently pursuing recognition
by the regulated health professions act in Ontario
(RHPA). Some health
plans may cover these services. However there
are certain instances where coverage may not be
applicable. If this is a concern for you, please
discuss your options with your therapist.
